So i am graduating college with a degree in physics, “the first step in to a larger world” as obi-wan would call it. I think back on my life and think that life is so small and insignificant. We are just small specs on this great blue world that really do not matter in the long scheme of the universe. What am I being one man among billions. I cling to this thought and hope I can make a difference some how. I want to make a difference, but who knows how. I live in a universe, where I am equivalent to one atom on this earth. Thinking about this, I am also connected to every single atom, molecule, and quark throughout this entire universe where anything is possible, and we on this earth are so close minded too. WE think that life can only exist similar to ours, but why must that be true. We are such a close minded civilization that we need to think beyond ourselves. Who are we to tell the universe what it wants to do. We are small and insignificant, and important all the same. We musnt think we are the center when we are no where near that. We must expand our mind to accept that we are small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I am one man, a climber, a runnner, a scout, a physicist, a teacher, whom just wants to survie. So I have a girl friend, a family, friends all over the country, and an open mind. What does that matter. We all have part to play, maybe not on the large scale, but to each other. life is to precious to waste and wonder. We think and we strive but for what, what is the answer we are looking for? They say the ultimate answer to life the universe and everything is 42. So we know the answer with no question, but isnt that something. We live, we die we expand into the universe, and thats the human race. Struggling for survival across the stars on the blue dot.
A man of faith would say we are the most important. A man of science might say we are insignificant little fucks. I say we are neither. We are what we want ourselves to be. Striving for life, and happiness. We go where we want to and shouldn’t compromise, although the subject of love might tell us different. The universe is massive and inconceivable. We struggle to find our place in it. I just want to have a moment, in our world, where we stop thinking about right and wrong, and we all think, how special we are. To our knowledge we are the only life forms in the universe and that is quite special. To not know a thing outside our world, is truely naive, yet so ambitious, that we should set aside our petty differences. We should strive for higher knowledge and do away with monatary gain and political belief, but we are so set in our ways, that even natural selection can no longer take its course. We obses with life, when we should strive for knowledge and understanding, even in the light that whatever we do learn, will be wholey usesless in the multiverse that may or may not exist. We must look to going beyond rather then settling for metiocre. We must strive to cary on in the face of nothingness and say ” no, I will survive and cary on because I must, for everything. That is my call, to stand up for everything that can’t and say I am not afraid of the oncoming darkness. That storm of death and destruction doesn’t own me. I will survive.” I look towards the future and how we can change it. I hope you do as well. Enjoi!
